While visiting one of his friends in the Rayongo district of Ouagadougou, Kantigui heard of incestuous news in a family. Indeed, a resident of the said neighborhood, according to Kantigui's informant, had to expel his wife from the family without the neighbors understanding exactly the real causes of this expulsion. 

The repudiated woman, it was whispered in Kantigui, enjoyed a good reputation in the neighborhood. Wanting to know more about the motive behind the man's actions, it was explained to Kantigui that the latter had begun intimate relations with his own daughter without the knowledge of her mother. After the girl's mother left, the neighborhood noticed that the girl practically changed her behavior and spent almost every day at home. 

Assuming that it was her father's rejection of her mother that was bothering her, those around her cheered her up from time to time. Some time later, signs of pregnancy were noticed in the girl, the perpetrator of which was none other than her own father. And to hide this crime, the father would have forced her to attribute the pregnancy to someone else at the risk of being killed. 

Despite this pressure, the girl made it clear to the neighborhood that she had not had intimate relations with anyone other than her father. Kantigui wonders how a biological father can fall in love with his own daughter to the point of committing this abomination by impregnating her.
