It’s an incredible case of human trafficking that continues to move more than one person. A man in his sixties decided to sell his grandson for a sum of 10 million CFA francs.

The story takes place in Benin, in the commune of Abomey-Calavi precisely in the Hêvié-Houinmè district. A sixty-year-old put his grandson up for sale for a sum of 10 million CFA francs before being arrested by the police.

In detail, it appears that the accused contacted one of his friends to help him find clients to sell his grandson for a sum of ten million (10,000,000) FCFA.

Realizing the seriousness of the situation, the friend informed the Beninese police who quickly raided the house of the sixty-year-old motorcycle taxi driver. Once on the scene, the person concerned was indeed found in the company of the child, aged around one year.

The arrest took place on February 14 and the suspect is accused of human trafficking. According to information from the Beninese police, relayed by Lepotentiel.bj, the person concerned admitted to having had the ambition to sell his grandson.

The prosecutor at the 2nd class first instance court of Abomey-Calavi had no choice but to place him under arrest warrant since February 19.
